Version 2.6 (10/28/2003)

It is now possible to enter a custom port number for the DNS server.
This is useful for DNS servers that work on non-standard ports, i.e.
    port numbers other than 53.
The program now always correctly detects if any new messages are
received from client programs and starts the sending process.
International characters and various encodings are supported. The
program can successfully deliver message even if it is not correctly
    encoded by the client program.
Relate4Free error message is fixed. The program crashes when the
database size reaches the FAT file system limit of 4GB. There is no
    limitation on NTFS hard disks.
Fixed the bug that in some cases caused the corruption of
attachments. Mostly PDF files were affected by this problem.
Freezing after receiving a number of time out error messages is
    fixed.
The option to delete the old database and create a new one is added
to the Tools menu. This option enables you to start with a new blank
database for storing messages if the database the program is using is
    corrupted.
The ODBC driver has a bug that does not allow folder path to have
more than 60 characters and contain the dot ('.') characters. The
program now saves the messages into the Common Files folder if the
    main folder cannot be used.

Version 2.5.24 (9/5/2003)

The "Out of memory" bug that caused the program to crash after
sending continuously for about 20 minutes is now fixed.
The program has more sophisticated algorithms for detecting and
logging invalid e-mail addresses. The problem with duplicate entries
in the log file or in the Access database file is fixed.
Fixed the problem with the creation of bounced messages. The
program could not return the mail to sender in certain situations.
Fixed several smaller bugs that caused crashes.

Version 2.5.16 (8/11/2003)

This version fixes the freezing problem at the startup that was
    introduced in v2.5.15.
Fixed all reported unexpected errors in versions 2.5, 2.5.1, and
    2.5.15.
Small performance improvements during the sending operation.

Version 2.5.15 (7/31/2003)

This version correctly installs OBDC database components on some
    non-english versions of Windows.
Fixes the problem with deletion of messages from the Outbox folder
    on some systems.
   Fixes several other smaller bugs.

Version 2.5.0 (6/13/2003)

Improved detection and logging of bad e-mail addresses. The
program can now detect and log bad e-mail addresses during the
    sending process.
Fixed the bug that changes immediately sending option to manual if
a dial-up connection cannot be detected.
Sending speed is increased by approximately 20%.
The program now minimizes correctly after system restart.
Fixed the problem with Outlook 2002 when it tries to send messages
to a local SMTP server. Outlook drops the response to one of the
commands that it issues if the response is received too quickly.
Outlook then waits for its timeout period for the response (which
was already received but ignored) and then gives up.
Windows 95 is not longer supported. The program may still run
correctly on this operating system if you have the latest updates
    for Internet Explorer.
There are many other smaller improvements in this release.

Version 2.4.95 (3/25/2003)

    Bug fixes

Fixed the problem with the user interface when the
Windows logical DPI settings is something other than 96.
Windows sizes all dialogs based on this value. The appearance
of some user interface elements was corrupted.
This version fixes the communication problem with Outlook
     2002 SP1.
The bug that caused Overflow error messages is now fixed.
There are no conflicts if some other server application is
using the same port and host name on the same computer.
PostCast Server will always have the priority and continue to
    receive messages.
When the client does not close the connection to PostCast
Server properly, the program automatically terminates the
connection and enables the incoming channel for next
    connections.
The place the program into windows startup group option
    now works correctly.
The program does not use all available CPU time if the
'Reject mail if sender has no MX record' option is selected.
The program now correctly refreshes the Outbox folder if
you send messages using PostCast client program
(www.postcast.com) and the 'Submit messages to PostCast
Server' option. If you enable the Immediately sending option
in the Settings screen, the server will now send messages as
soon as it detects the connection from PostCast.
Fixed the problem with the permissions on Windows NT/2000/XP
computers and the "Access Denied" error under non-administrator
    user accounts.
Fixed the bug in the 'Always on top' feature where the main
    window appeared frozen.
If the program crashes when sending messages, the next time
you start the process it will remove all sent and undeliverable
messages. There is no way it can send duplicate messages to
    a single recipient.

    New features and improvements

The part of the program that accepts incoming connections
from e-mail clients is completely rewritten. Speed and
    stability is greatly improved.
The program can now accept up to 100 simultaneous
connections from clients and it can also send the messages
using its 20 threads at the same time. On Windows NT/2000/XP
set the postcastserver.exe process priority to Above Normal
if you expect a lot of connections.
DNS server settings is now simplified and does not include
'Default DNS' option. The DNS detection is improved.
The new 'Ping the address before sending' option in the
Settings/Advanced screen enables you to disable pinging when
sending messages to other computers inside your LAN.
If you configure the server to use the LAN IP address and if
that address changes, the program will automatically detect
    the new settings.
The detection of your computer's network parameters and IP
addresses is improved. The program allows you to select your
internet IP address from the 'Host Name' drop-down list in
the Settings screen. The next time your IP address changes,
it automatically detects the new settings. It uses the same
approach in the 'Server Identity' screen
(Settings>Advanced>Settings). Select the 'Detect changed IP
addresses' option in the Settings/Advanced screen to enable
    this feature.
The program does not start sending messages from the
beginning if it is interrupted during the large mailings. It
skips all 'non-idle' messages in the Outbox and continues
    with the next unsent message.

Version 2.2.0 (6/23/2002)

Fixed the communication problem with Outlook 2002 introduced with
    Office XP Service Pack 1.
Sending speed is improved. Also, the program now works much faster
when Force message delivery option is used.
When starting a new sending process a new option in Settings/Advanced
screen removes all messages that received fatal errors from remote
servers in previous mailings. This feature is safe to use and there
is no way a message with a valid recipient can be deleted. It increases
the sending speed because the program doesnt need to process those
    messages again.
More detailed reporting of errors in log files.
If program has terminated unexpectedly it can now determine which
messages have been sent and delete them from Outbox on startup.
This eliminates possibility of sending duplicate messages to a single
    recipient.
Added the Time Left counter in the Stats toolbar. Fixed the bug that
    generated negative values in statistics.
Fixed the problem with the appearance of the statistics at the bottom
    of the screen.
Fixed the bug in the Send messages inside the LAN option that blocked
threads that received errors after trying to connect to a non-existing
server. The bug caused the program to stop sending messages after a
    certain period of time.

Version 2.1.26 (5/30/2002)

Fixed the IP detection of incoming connections.
Fixed the bug that generated 500 please set from & to first...
    error with some e-mail messages.
Added support for return receipts option in e-mail clients.
Fixed the bug in the Allow access... feature in the security
section that caused open relay problems. Enter either localhost,
127.0.0.1, or a LAN IP address to allow access only from local computer.
Fixed the enhanced data control problem when connecting to the outbox
    folder.

Version 2.0.11 (2/2/2002)

Fixed: the problem with the security section. The program
can now properly detect an IP address of a connected client
and deny or allow the access using the settings in the Security
    section of the Settings screen.
Fixed: the problem in the Server TimeOut option that causes the
program to loop indefinitely and consumes 100% of processor time.

Version 2.0.0 (1/25/2002)

   New 'XP style' user interface.
   New Network Configuration window.
Fixed: detection of the sender's IP address and reported
    problems with the Security tools
Fixed: the network detection module and fixed the
problem with the DOS window showing on some
    non-US Windows regional settings.
The DNS detection feature in the Settings screen is
improved. It can now detect multiple DNS server addresses.
The program can now send messages to servers inside the
LAN. You should use the following format for e-mail
    addresses: user@servername or user@serverip
Fixed: a few problems with the 'immediately' mail
    sending frequency option
Fixed: 'server timeout' option. The thread with an error
    was unavailable.

Version 1.5.13 (8/15/2001)

Fixed: large column width in the grid on non-english versions of
    Windows
Fixed: read Receipts option in Outlook now works correctly with PostCast
    Server
Fixed: detection of network parameters on non-english versions of
    Windows

session. I could reproduce the problem only with PostCast client but
it is possible that some other e-mail clients had problems too
Fixed: The program did not conform to RFC 821 upon a successful
    client>server e-mail delivery
Added: "Do not send messages if a Dial-Up connection cannot be
detected" check box under Dial-Up Networking section

Version 1.5.12 (8/15/2001)

Fixed: the warning message introduced in 1.5 version is now
disabled. In the previous version, the program will display the
Too Many Recipients error and lock up
Fixed: run time error '0' message when receiving messages
    from a client
Fixed: bug that caused only one column in the grid to be visible
    at a time

    settings in Windows
Fixed: DNS detection on Windows Millennium systems

Version 1.5 Final version (7/28/2001)

Added: in the 'Dial-Up Networking' section of the
Settings screen, you can now instruct the program to close
the connection to the Internet only if it is initiated by
    PostCast Server.
Added: the program can block postings to specified
domains. In the Security section of the Settings screen
domain names should be entered in the 'Reject postings to
    following domains' list
Added: the program shows a warning message when sending
    to more recipients than 50.
Added: the program writes more details in logs for
    unsuccessful operations
Improved: the program manages multiple connections
better and generally works much better in a multi-user
    environment
Fixed: the program is now compatible with Outlook 2002
Fixed: in the logs list the most recent day is always at
the bottom of the list instead of reverse date-order
Fixed: 'create a new log file when log is larger...'
option in the settings screen always creates a new log file
Fixed: the HELO SMTP command passes a blank string to a
remote server. The program now identifies itself by using an
    Internet IP address
Fixed: some minor bugs in the DNS detect feature
Fixed: program crashes when the message contains a large
    attachment (over 10 MB)
Fixed: slow response time when receiving messages during
    the sending process
Fixed: If a message contains only an address in the BCC
field (no entry in TO or CC) it fails to be send
Fixed: if you put in an invalid 'From' and an invalid
'To' and set to 'Return to sender' the program continues to
    loop without deleting the message
Fixed: large font size problem in the grid
Fixed: having "Automatically Check for Updates" turned
off causes the program to show a "nag screen" every time the
    server is launched
Fixed: when PostCast server spans midnight and the Mail
sending frequency option is set to 'immediately' the program
waits for 1440 minutes (one day) before starting the next
    sending process.
Fixed: total of sent messages in the statistics toolbar
always seems to be one fewer than it should be
Removed: insertion of the 'X-SMTP-Server' line in the
    message header

Version 1.5 Beta 2 (4/12/2001)

Fixed: in the 'delete logs' dialog, the yes/no buttons in
response to "Are you sure you wish to permanently delete
all log files?" are reversed. If you close the
"Administration" tab, and then come back to it later, all
     the log files have reappeared.
Added: you can now choose how would you like the program
to create log files. There are three options:
   	a. create a separate file for each mailing process
   	b. use a single log file
   	c. create a new file after the current log exceeds
           certain size
Added: the 'Logs' button on the main toolbar contains list
of recent log files. You do not have to call 'Settings'
window up each time, choose the 'Administration' tab, and
call up logs from there anymore.
Fixed: if you choose 'Use this DNS server' option the
program will not use the specified server if it finds a
faster one from its internal list of public DNS servers.
This caused problems with some types of Internet connections.
Now if you select the option, the program will connect to
the Internet only through specified DNS server.
Fixed: '20 ESMTP supported' response from some servers
     caused errors.
Added: you can now specify the value that will be used for
server identification. The program will use that value
during HELO handshaking process that occurs every time the
     program connects to mail servers.
Added: 'Message Source' option in the edit menu in the
main window or View menu in the New/Open window shows
complete source code of a selected e-mail message.
Fixed: the program denies connections from a local
computer if you specify 127.0.0.1 or localhost value in
     the Settings/Security screen.
Added: Check for Updates option from the Tools menu checks
for new versions of the program.

Version 1.5 Beta 1 (2/8/2001)

    default isn't available.
Fixed: fixed bug in the auto DNS detection feature. All
relevant network information can be detected now.
Fixed: fixed problem with bounced messages. The program
can now send bounced messages to the sender. When a
message is marked as undeliverable, the program will
notify the sender about the problem.
Fixed: in some cases, if the server that receives message
from the program does not return standard 220 or 250
response after HELO command from PostCast Server, an
    error occurs.
Fixed: some servers refuse connections from PostCast
Server if the host name contains blank characters.
Fixed: the program sometimes puts line breaks in the
    email message
Fixed: a screen redraw problem in the DNS setting area
Added: the new DNS component eliminates all problems
related to DNS servers. It has a list of publicly
available DNS servers. The program periodically checks
the servers and detects their response times during the
sending process. It always uses the fastest servers so
sending speed is greatly increased. PostCast Server now
works even if you don't enter an address of a DNS
server. Also, you do not need to change your DNS
configuration when connecting to a different Internet
    Service Provider.
Added: Total number of recipients per message is now
    50. You can enter multiple e-mail addresses in To, CC or
BCC field of an e-mail message. The limitation of one
address per message or maximum 3 if you use CC and BCC
    fields is removed.
Added: you can now specify an IP range in the security
section of the program. For example, '192.168' value
will allow access only to those with an IP address that
    starts with '192.168'.
Possible Problem: In some cases program crashes when
Internet Explorer 5.5 is installed on the same
computer. Upgrade to version 5.5 SP1 will solve this
problem. You can visit windowsupdate.microsoft.com to
upgrade your version of Internet Explorer.
